About the W&M Bray School Lab

The William & Mary Bray School Lab aspires to transform traditional accounts of America’s history into a multi-layered story that centers Black legacy at the heart of U.S. democracy. In collaboration with The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Bray School Lab is uncovering, documenting, preserving, and disseminating the history and legacy of the Williamsburg Bray School, which educated enslaved and free Black children from 1760 to 1774.
